WE ARE HIBERNATING!
On the 6th of August, 2021, we dropped our first newsletter to start testing our idea, we added 2,500 emails amongst them are Civic space Leaders, Politicians, Political Advisers, Grantmakers, Policy experts and Active citizens. This was a deliberate attempt to see if people will unsubscribe from our newsletter but fortunately, it grew to over 3,000 subscribers. We created Buharimeter and Legislative Agenda Meter to practice our process while building our web platform.
We were also invited to BudgIT hackathon in September which was our first opportunity to pitch our idea, we ended up as one of the winners.
Over the weeks, we have been able to engage with policy experts, journalists, grant makers, civil society organizations and media influencers. These engagements were done to get feedbacks to improve our work.
We have also been able to add great individuals across the world to our advisory board. Our team consists of young and passionate individuals with an average age of 25.
We believe with these board of advisors and team members, our core mission of making seats of underperforming elected office holders uncomfortable and also making sure citizens make informed decisions during election cycles will be fulfilled.
Our team has agreed to launch our web platform on the 18th of December, 2021. During our hibernation, we will work hard to perfect AdvoKC’s processes and also raise funds to launch our flagship project, SOLUDOMETER which will track the top 100 most important promises of the Governor-elect of Anambra, Prof. Charles Soludo after his swearing-in next year.
